8 July 2006
It's the day after the 1st anniversary of 7/7, or the London
bombings. So along with other reasons to remember the date, I
have just been to 'Rise' (against racism) festival at Finsbury Park,
London, and it was one of the best festivals I've ever been to.
80,000 people attended and it was paid for by the Mayor of
London, but the reason it was so fabulous, was because "The Wailers"
played. It was a tribute to BOB
MARLEY.
They played everything that I wanted to hear - Redemption Song, Could
you be loved, I Shot the Sheriff, Get Up Stand Up, No Woman No Cry
Exodus plus more. I was in Jamaica
exactly
one year ago, and one of the most amazing
experiences I have had, was when I went to '9 Mile' where Robert Nestor
Marley was born and is now buried.
Dais
14 April 2006
Finally after 9 months,
she has arrived... her name closely
guarded so as not to spoil the suprise to myself and Simon's sister
Natalie, my niece DAISY NATALIE was born on Good Friday, the 14 April
2006, at 2.45pm after only one hour of labour to the relief of her
mum. Ethan now has a little sister to play with, and the
Kent/Ropiha family is now complete. I only have a few photos to
show
you at the moment, but no doubt as she begins to blossom, you will find
a field of daisies.
And so a little bit
about us...
With thanks to our
English grandmother, Elizabeth Mary Kearney (nee Doble), of Yarcombe
Honiton, County Devon, Vanessa and I were able to immigrate to the UK
in 1997 for an indefinite time. Listed below is a brief timeline, of

Suprisingly enough, we
have managed to hold down
quite a few jobs, reside in several flats, make lots of good friends,
and meet loads of interesting people. In between all this (and for
me, the best news) Vanessa had a gorgeous and beautiful little boy
called Ethan, who was born on the 18 August 2003. I have a page
of pics dedicated to him alone. I think he is an amazing little
person, this aunty loves him to bits, and she can't seem to stop taking
photos of him (though I have selected only a few, or you'd be there all
day).
I have tried to include
a bit of commentary where
I have bothered to keep bit of a diary of trips and life here in the
UK, but you'll find it mainly made up of pics. I have no method
to any of the links in the menu, they are placed as and when I've
completed a new page.
Most of you will know I
am a bit animal mad, and I
do a lot of catsitting, so sadly I tend to take lots of photos of them.
SO, to make it a little more interesting I have only included ones that
I thought were quite cool photos of animals (mainly cats). But you be
the judge and tell me how sad I am. I hope to hear from you soon.
Please note, this site
works best in a Firefox
browser. If you wish to download Firefox, please go to this link Mozilla/Firefox.
It's free and much better then Internet Explorer, as not all my photos
will display in IE.
And last of all, if you click on the image below you will be taken to a
site of the music I am currently listening to:
